The first 100 000 people that will receive their Tata Nano were selected by Tata Motors. The delivery of Tata Nanos will start next month and we will finally see them on the road ![]()
The selection was made with a computer program after registrations were closed on April 25th.
“Tata Motors once again places on record its gratitude to the people of India for according such a warm welcome to the Tata Nano, as also to all its preferred financiers, dealers and partner companies for their stupendous effort in helping the company launch the Tata Nano,” the company said in a statement.
There were another 100k people that weren’t so lucky, and 50k decided to cancel their application. To the rest of them, Tata Nano will give a preferential treatment for the next allotment as well as offering them an 8.5% interest on their booking amounts.
The company will also be offering the unsuccessful applicants “an exciting offer on the Tata Indica range”, the statement read.
These may seem like exciting news, but many are scheduled to receive their car by the end of 2010 which let us think Tata Nano is produced in only 8k models/month. It is going to take forever for those people ![]()
Probably some people will opt out of the business, 1 year is a long time to wait for a car.
