Nano assembly plants to come up in Indonesia, eastern Europe

The Nano is all set to have its footprint etched in more countries as Tata Motor plan to open up production centers for the small hatchback in Indonesia. Plus there will also be a similar facility in an East European country to produce the Nano. This has recently been confirmed by the chairman of the group, Mr. Ratan Tata though he declined to specify just where in Eastern Europe that his company plan to set up the production center.
In the words of Ratan Tata as published by Press Trust of India, “We are already selling the Nano in Sri Lanka and Nepal. We are also looking at assembling facilities for this, possibly in Indonesia and in some parts of Eastern Europe.”
He also added, “Our plan is in fact to grow both in the neighborhood and in some specific countries.” This means that the company has plans to set up its assembly plants in the Latin American region like Brazil, southeast Asia as well as other countries apart from Indonesia.
The company also plans to launch its electric cars in Europe as well in UK and Norway and this is expected to happen shortly. For the China region, the company plans to get into a joint collaboration for its Land Rover range of cars as also collaborating with Jaguar for its JV Engine project.
