New 2012 Nano with enhanced power and mileage but same price
Tata Motors has unveiled an upgraded version of its small wonder — the Nano in the country very recently. The upgraded 2012 version of the Nano includes some external design modifications along with a host of comfort features incorporated in the car’s interiors. But that’s not all about the new Nano as Tata Motors has done a fine job of also sprucing up the car’s powertrain as well. So on offer is slightly improved engine performance with more power on tap while the Nano’s drinking habits too has improved post the makeover.
The folks at the company recently stated that the new version of Nano would feature an engine that is even more powerful than the already existing 624 cc engine. Consequently the engine would provide a 38 PS of power and 51 Nm of torque where as the older version provides the user with only 35 PS power along with a peak torque of 48 Nm.
One of the officials at the firm also boasted that low kerb weight of 600 kg and its high fuel efficiency would ensure that the little car at 92.7 gram per kilometer has the lowest CO2 (carbon dioxide) emission as compared to the other Indian cars.
As a result of its new upgraded engine power the fuel economy of this new version will be higher as compared to the older one. The car would now offer a mileage of 25.4 km per litre while the earlier version used to offer a mileage of only 23.6 km per litre. Saving the best for the last, the new Nano’s price range remains untouched at Rs 1.40 lakh to Rs 1.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
