TATA NANO BOOKING REPORT
The booking forms for Tata Nano are already in market from April 1, 2009 and the forms will be accepted from 9th to 25th of April. The Online Form costs Rs. 200/-. You just need to download the form and fill out the necessary information. There is help provided in the form of a popup for filling each section. Once you have filled all the required information leaving no blanks you can proceed to make an online payment. Please note that the booking amount cannot be paid through credit cards.
The payments are not handled directly instead you will be directed towards a third party payment gateway site. Through net banking you can make the payment. The total amount that is required for paying is the cost of the application form which is Rs. 200/- and also the booking amount. Once you make the payment wait for the website to generate a transaction ID.
Once the website confirms your payment and generates a transaction ID, it will direct you to the Tata Nano website homepage where a Unique Identification Number (UIN) will be generated. Please take print of the receipt of the entire transaction. Also keep a hardcopy of the transaction confirmation that is sent to your email id.
The booking amount for each Nano model varies like Nano BS2/3 costs around Rs. 95,000/-, Nano CXBS2/3 is available for Rs. 1, 20,000/- and so on. The entire list is available in the website. Since the booking amount cannot be paid through credit card the other options available are Demand Draft, Pay Order and Cheque, but it should be a local Cheque drawn in the name of “Tata Motors Ltd – A/C Tata Nano”. The DD or the Cheque should be furnished with the following details on the back such as Applicant Name, UIN, and Contact Number. Please ensure that the payment instrument should be payable at the right place and the amount mentioned on the DD or Cheque or whatever mode of payment is selected, is same with respect to the model selected.
You can also avail a loan for the booking amount from any of the Tata Motors Preferred Financiers like Tata Motors Finance, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank Ltd., Union Bank of India, to name a few.
Allotment is based on the pseudo random number generation technique through which one lakh applicants will be selected within 60 days of closing of the booking window. For others who are not interested in retaining their application with Tata Motors, the money will be refunded without interest within 90 days of closing of the booking window. Retainees would get in the second lot of allotments and would be paid an interest of 8.5% per annum and for more than 2 years it is 8.75% from the date of allotment.
The offline booking can be through 2800 locations throughout India at select outlets of Tata Motors dealerships, SBI, Westside, Croma, but Titan and Tata Indicom are for purchasing booking form only.

I booked Nano LX Lunar Silver BS.3 in April 2009, no. 113020811 and paid Rs 1, 40,4000. I was told that I would get an interest of 8.5 percent on this amount but yesterday I was told that I would not get an interest on this amount. I am highly disappointed on not receiving interest amount and waiting for more than one year for the vehicle.

Tata seem to have recently forgot all their honesty and truthfulness. I booked a nano and was told that I will be paid interest on my money, the date of delviery given to me was almost 1 year 9 months from the date of booking, so I was bit relaxed that I am earning interest even if I did not get anything for what I paid for almost 18 months. Later I discovered that nano was worth nothing, the quality was poor and buying it was risking with life, so I decided not to go for it, when I called for cancellation of the nano in march 2011, I was surprised to know that my booking was already cancelled almost 6 months back, I was never informed about it, and even they did not refund my money. Now they are saying that your money will be refunded but no interest will be paid.
I have also discovered that it has happened with many more people and not just with me, but this does not reduce my pain at all.
I request tatas to stop cheating people and honestly pay to the customers what they have promised.
