Tata Nano diesel: here is some more info
Tata Motors is all set to release a new version of Nano that would come with a diesel powerplant. The manufacturing of the car has already started. There are rumors that the diesel version is priced at 3.5 lakhs.
The best part of it all and what can easily be tagged as the biggest USP of the diesel Nano is that it would provide a mileage of 40km/litre. Due to the inflation in the prices of petroleum and diesel the car would prove to be a highly economic car.
The diesel Nano car would feature a 800cc engine, 3 cylinders, power steering, AC, disc breaks and power window. However looks wise, the diesel Nano will sport the same appearance as its petrol counterpart.
However, all of these has been leaked by unconfirmed sources and should be taken with a pinch of salt as none of it is officially confirmed. But then, that the car would give a mileage of 40 km/ litre is almost a surety. It is this along with the fact that the car will be highly economical can ensure it turns out to be the best choice for the common family. One that is cheap to buy and own and the company is also pinning high hopes on it.
Also, the diesel car has been specially designed for plying on Indian roads and has been equipped with a good suspension to ensure a smooth ride. The diesel Nano is expected to be released in January 2012 though is likely to go on sale only towards March.
