Tata Nano Diesel to be launched on March 2012

Tata motors latest release, the diesel version of the Tata Nano would soon be launched in the Indian markets. According to recent reports, this new release would be seen on the roads most probably in the month of March next year. Also, the Nano which happens to be India’s cheapest car is expected to get an additional tag — V2. So what makes the Tata Nano V2 different from the Nano currently on sale.
Apart from the diesel engine, what sets the Nano V2 apart from the current Nano version is a superior interior padding on the seats than its previous version. The suspension would come with an anti roll bar while customers would also be provided with new paint options for both interior as well as exterior surfaces. The car would also be updated to have an improved version of audio system. The high end variant is expected to get comfort features such as power steering as well.
Bosch is actively involved in designing several key components of the Tata Nano’s diesel engine which already has set new benchmarks as far as fuel efficiency is concerned, having recorded an impressive mileage of 30kmpl. As a result a new segment of ultra fuel efficient cars would be launched in the Indian automobile industry. Having said that, what also has to be mentioned is that the current petrol Nano still does not have any competition. Even the new version would only have low priced petrol cars as its competitors.
However, Tata Motors has refused to reveal any information about the exact launch date of the car while the actual price at which Tata Nano V2 would be released has also been kept under wraps. Don’t be surprised to see the diesel version of the Nano at the 2012 Auto Expo to be held in Delhi this coming January.
However Tata motors is yet to come to a conclusion why the Nano is suffering from pyromaniac problems. We just hope that this new diesel version does not show any such issue.
