Tata Nano gets nominated for ‘World Design Impact prize’
The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) which is a non-profit international organization that protects and promotes industrial designers across 50 nations is considering the Tata Nano for the award of the ‘World Design Impact prize.’ Along with the Tata Nano, there are 22 other entries from around the world including the Jaipur foot that also has its origins in India.
Ratan Tata, the chairman of Tata Group had visioned the Nano to be the one for the mass market. Coming at a price of just Rs. 1 Lakh this was the car which the company had built up as its flagship right from its launch in 2008. Rata Tata had wanted this car to be the one that would convert the middle class people of India and fulfill their dream of owning a car.
