Tata Nano makes a comeback in November… records sales of 6401 units
Three years down the lane when Tata Nano was introduced into the Indian automobile scene, Tata Motors had installed the sales capacity at 20,000 units per month. However, things often do not happen in the way they are planned so that so that Tata Motors could sell only 3,000 to 4,000 units per month on an average. Consequently Ratan Tata’s dream to put India on four wheels seemed to be shattered as Nano was turning out to be a big flop.
During the month of November this year even the GDP of India failed to grow at even 7 percent. Taking advantage of the sombre economic climate Nano managed to sell more than 6,401 units. Tata has been striving hard all these months to be able to pull up the sagging sales of the car. The firm has also offered many attractive offers as baits to increase the number of consumers. Finally after months of struggle the car has managed to gain a few admirers.
Last year in this very month, Tata saw its worst sales ever. They could sell only 509 units. As a result Tata has now come up with an advanced version of the old one, 2012 Nano which features a 4 year/60,000 Km warranty, zero down payment schemes and INR 99.month maintenance package that were missing in the last version.
This latest version is not only meager but also faster and responsive than the older one besides also featuring revamped interiors. This time soft exhaust has been given preference rather than twin cylinder thrum. The car basically is like what Tata Indica V2 was and may serve as agent that would bring back Tata’s glamour and lost prestige as Indica V2 had done for Indica. As of now things seem to be working out well.
