Tata Nano Sales Picking Up Pace
The Managing Director (Indian Operation) at Tata Motors, Prakash M Telang admits that the pace at which the Nano sales have been effected in the Indian Market has been slow. He however is of the opinion that the present pace is adequate now. The lacunae in the marketing of the Nano, as per him, which required correction, were in the fields of outreach. The rural market of India had not been penetrated in his opinion. For correcting this error plans are now afoot to set up new dealerships across the country.
To make financing schemes available to the people, Tata Motors is also in consultation with Pan India to work out a process whereby loans would be given without much cumbersome processing stages.
Telang speaking to the daily said: “We are moving now and there is no place for complacency. But yes, we should probably have moved faster.”
