TATA Pixel makes it to Auto Expo 2012, Nano Diesel kept out of showlight
This year’s Geneva Motor Show had on display a concept car by way of the Tata Pixel Hatchback which is being assumed to be Tata’s future Nano. The car did attract a number of viewers given its design and going by its looks, the car is meant for foreign markets rather than the Indian market in its current state.
It has scissor doors as part of its many other unique and attractive design features. The four seater runs on a 1.2 Liter, three pot turbo diesel engine. For transmission it has an automatic CTV system. With this combination, Tata states that the CO2 emission of the car is as low as 89 grams / Km. The other factor of note in this car is its fuel efficiency which reads 35 kmpl.
The other technologically advanced features that the Pixel boasts of are the start stop technology, low resistance tyres that are fitted along with brake energy regeneration feature. Visitors at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo would sure have been happier if they were able to see the diesel version of the car also. Future of the company hinges on this car to a great extent.
