What women want: a Tata Nano

That men like cars as much as women like jewelry is an established fact, something that has nothing to do with Mars or Venus or any of the other celestial objects with this choice of the ganders. Tata have conducted a survey on their part and have however come out with some interesting results which contradicts the above mentioned fact — that their Nano has come out to be the most preferred car amongst the women.
The total percentage of women who form the population of the country with a passion for cars stands at just 2 percent. Out of this there is 10 percent who vote for the Tata Nano. The choice of Nano seems to emanate from the fact that women prefer cars that are easy to maneuver, park and drive with the Tata Nano having all these features.
The study has also come out with figures of 20 percent Nano buyers belong to Bangalore and they are all women. The reason for this has been attributed to the high tech life style that the folks in this city follow and also the fact that women here like to be more independent in their mobility.
The Tata Nano is driven by a 650 cc engine mounted at its rear end. The compact design of the car offers easy maneuverability while also being sift on the pockets as well owing to its low cost. The cost of the car is quite close to that of a motorcycle in India and therefore within easy reaches of the women folk to own as a personal independent vehicle. The car is the cheapest one that is available in the market of India as of now.
Even though the engine is a small and compact one yet the car has the ability to climb steep gradients quite easily which is one other feature that appeal to the women for the reason they prefer this car over others.
A car that stands in comparison of preference amongst women is the New Beetle from Volkswagen. The car at present has been sold mostly to women with half its owners being women. At the Frankfurt Show the company has showcased a Beetle that has a trendier look probably to attract the male customers too.
